Cherry Tomato & Goat Cheese Galette {Gluten-Free}

I know, I know. Here I go about tomatoes again. But, OMG…

You guys. I totally didn’t kill my tomatoes this year.

This is BIG news. As someone who is enthusiastic about growing things, it can be slightly disheartening when I kill my succulents. Correct. I have killed various cacti in my gardening career. Don’t even get me started with my various vegetable growing flops. It’s a sad scene.

Just Hanging Out…

Happy Friday, Lovelies!  How was your week? Let’s take a minute to hang out, shall we?

My week was kind of a doozy.

Here is the picture of how it all went…

I managed to catch the flu. The middle of this week was spent on our couch watching TV programs that I had vowed never to watch.

I dipped my toe into the  program Totally T-boz , a reality show featuring Tionne “T-boz” Watkins made famous by the 90’s girl group TLC. As someone who once dressed up as Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes for Halloween (It was sixth grade, let’s just say I was (am) a HUGE TLC fan – like, life-size poster on the bedroom wall, subscribed to both VIBE magazine and Word Up magazine, mostly to cut out the pages and paste them on my walls. It was serious. These were my people.) it is awkward to see them out in the world, “chasing waterfalls” if you will, to save their careers. In my head I like to imagine T-boz still clad in silk jammies and a belt made of condoms, creepin’ somewhere, being fly. Instead, she is just like the rest of us, hustling to find work and baking pancakes at one in the morning because she can’t sleep. Reality is sometimes harsh. In the process of trying to find you some TLC reference photos/videos, I happened across this “The 40 best R&B videos of the 90s”  hoopla and I currently have the “No Diggity” video blasting as I write this. No apologies. […]

Dog in a Tank Top | Doing My Best

See that skeptical dawg? Yup. She is mine.

As many of you know, I am a new parent.

I’ve had a cat for years, but let’s get honest and say that just isn’t that same thing.  It’s not often you have a new baby in your life that is instantly potty-trained. Cats are low maintenance on all levels. My cat doesn’t even care if we touch. She would actually prefer if ALL of the bodily contact we have is on her terms… usually her paws on my windpipe to wake me up.

On the flip side…

I have a six-month-old toe-headed beauty named Emma. Sometimes I call her Mini Retriever. Often that is just shortened to “Mini Treeves” Or when I am feeling particularly nostalgic for the days of Bill and Ted and their Excellent Adventures,  we go with “Keanu Treeves”.  She has no sense of humor about any of this. She hasn’t developed her love for puns yet. We’re working on it.  She’s only a baby. […]

Curried Delicata And Sweet Potato Bisque

Let me be straight with you.

This recipe was created for the sole purpose of using my brand new immersion blender.

I had a very domestic birthday. I received a sewing machine (note: I totally sewed that place mat you see there. The hems are ALMOST straight. Pretty much a professional.) a three piece cupcake carrier, an immersion blender, tart pans, ramekins and a collection of amazing cooking and food styling books. (Oh, and a hangover. We will get to that in another post. Coming to you soon.)  Serious jackpot. I had never used an immersion blender before, but knew it was something that I wanted to try.  Who likes to puree their soups two cups at a time in a semi functional blender?  Not this girl.  I’ve scalded myself multiple times.  I have hot soup battle scars. I can be kind of a hot mess. My parents always said, “there’s a reason we didn’t name you Grace.”  I would like to say that comment is rude, but it is just ever so true. Darn it. […]
