Papa Lou’s Famous Italian Stuffing {Grain-Free + Gluten-Free + Paleo}

In my house, Thanksgiving is all about the stuffing.We’re not talking that sad Stove Top cornbread stuff with mushy pieces of lackluster veggies. We’re talking my Dad’s famous stuffing– the kind of stuffing that is made with savory hunks of Italian sausage, mushrooms, celery, and flavored with an umami bomb of chicken stock, and the brine-y juices leftover in a can of olives. Oh, and butter. All the butter. […]

Maple, Bourbon & Spice Roasted Brussels Sprouts With Apples

Oh, so you thought you might be able to get through this whole Thanksgiving season without me putting bourbon in something? Nope. You thought wrong. I can’t help myself. At least we’re throwing it onto some veggies, right? It’s only polite to get our vegetables a little bit drunk, and we’re nothing if not proper hosts.

Dark Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bars With Sea Salt {Grain-Free, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free}

Hey, friends! You’re in for a treat today. Get it? Puns. I’ve put dark chocolate all up in some pumpkin and we’re calling it dessert. Do you want to make these for Thanksgiving? Maybe, YES. Peter (the sweet-tooth-toting-husband of mine) is here to say nice things about my baking. Someone is trying to get some major brownie pumpkin-bar points. I just love him. Enjoy!

My wife is extremely thorough, and I daresay a perfectionist. The recipes she brings you are vetted with dedication, and anything not up to snuff gets tossed out like my daily recommendations to eat breakfast for every meal. I’m the number one fan of my ideas getting tossed out, because if you’ve spent any time around here — you’ll know the variety and quality of food that emerges from our kitchen is absolutely to die for and I wouldn’t have it any other way. […]

Bacon & Cranberry Roasted Brussels Sprouts With Honey Dijon Dressing

Okay, so I’ve been getting a little side-dishy lately. We’ve made Butter & Wine Roasted Mushrooms, Bourbon & Honey Glazed Carrots and now I’m punching you in the mouth with these Brussels Sprouts. Thanksgiving is upon us in less than a week, and I just want to make sure you have some bangin’ gluten-free side dish selections to accompany what is sure to be a hefty meal of turkey and all sorts of other incredible things. Is it weird that I am drooling just thinking about it? I plan to imbibe with a Pomegranate Margarita (or two) as well as sink my after-dinner teeth into one of these Gluten-Free Buttermilk Apple Hand Pies. Yes, yes. You guessed it. I will be wearing something spandex. […]
