Beet and Parsnip Chocolate Cake | Gluten Free

It’s good to have creative friends.

My friend Becca over at The Dabblist posted a recipe for Chocolate Almond Molten Beet Cakes.  I died. They looked so gooey and wonderful.  The color of red velvet.  Oh, and they are made with beets.  No big deal.  When I saw that post I got really fired up.  I wanted to bake with my beets.  I wanted to beet it. Does that sound dirty?  Stop it.  Get your mind out of the gutter.  I immediately went to my pantry and surveyed my ingredients. I didn’t have all of the things that I needed to make her exact cakes.  I did a quick google search.  No, I didn’t google search “Beet It”.  I suggest you don’t either.  Or do.  Tell me what you find. Pumpkin Pie Breakfast Shake

Good Morning, Friends!

I don’t know about you all, but I’m up early. This whole daylight savings hoopla has got me running on a geriatric schedule. I go to bed at 9:30. I realize that this explanation sounds similar to narcolepsy. Funny. Or is it? Should I get this checked out? Meh.

Naturally, since I have clocked out early, I am waking up before the sun is out. I get up, inconveniencing our dog. She’s tired. She doesn’t understand this nonsense. Not a morning dog.  Typical teenager. […]

Light As Air Pumpkin Cake | Gluten-Free

I went to the mall this weekend.  They were playing Christmas carols.  I spent my ride home singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” without realizing what was going on.  They inadvertently hijacked my holiday spirit. Crafty.

Why do we have to rush through this holiday season?  I still have my jack o’lantern on the porch.  Chill.  We’ve got time.  Let’s not rush things.  I’ve still got pumpkin recipes for you!  I am not ready to switch to egg nog (least of all because it’s awful).  Fall has barely arrived.  I just want to relish in cinnamon and cloves and all that this season has to offer before I am bombarded by peppermint, blow-up snowmen and Mall Santas.  We will get there.  All in due time.
