You guys!
It’s Tuesday and it’s totally almost a long four day weekend! It’s almost Fourth of July, people. Or in grown-up world “America is cool, but it’s even cooler that I can BBQ these ribs in my underwear while enjoying the sweet freedom of a whiskey cocktail on a Thursday” Day. God Bless America.
Pete and I have been gearing up by trying to find the perfect summery cocktail combo. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it. Let us do that heavy lifting for you. We’ve come up with something pretty great. Muddled raspberries mixed with lime, ginger beer and whiskey. Summery magic? Yes indeed.
We sat around sipping guzzling our creation trying to come up with a name. Since we were both sweating semi-profusely, draping our bodies carefully in juxtaposition to an AC vent,we decided to call it The Heatwave. It’s hot. I know, I’ve mentioned this. But, really. Complain, complain. We need cocktails.
OK, let’s muddle it up.
Alright. All of the guests have arrived. Man, I love raspberries.
Muddle, muddle, muddle. Sounds like puddle. Well, it does.
Add your whiskey and your lime juice. Stir that baby up.
Ice happens. If you feel the need to take an ice cube and rub it all over yourself you can. I get that. Cool off. Ok, now fill up the rest of your glass with some ginger beer. Don’t rub the ginger beer all over yourself unless you want to get sticky. It’s not the move.
Garnish with a lime. Cool off like a boss. Enjoy!
Hope this helps your Fourth Of July cocktail inspiration! xox

I love this ginger drink. And what a perfect blend. I hve to try this cocktail. Happy 4th!!
Welp, I know what I’ll be making tomorrow. Note to self: Find ginger beer IMMEDIATELY.
And I totally feel you on the Heatwave. In fact, I haven’t been writing recently, but if I had, a lot of my writing would be on just how damn hot it’s been and how I cannot seem to function in this weather. However, one solution is always a cocktail, so I think y’all have got this figured out…
I hope you found that ginger beer with immediacy. Cheers, Amiga. 🙂
Oh holy yum! This looks so delicious! My sister and I are working on a series of drinks right now for our blog. Summer cocktails are so delicious and refreshing. My hubby loves whiskey and raspberries so I’m sure he’ll love this!
