Pear, Pecorino & Chard Tartlets | Gluten Free

One of my favorite birthday gifts this year was Aran Goyaga’s cookbook Small Plates and Sweet Treats. Aran is the beautiful mastermind of the food blog  Cannelle et Vanille. It’s so gorgeous I can’t even handle it. Every single one of her photographs makes me want to jump into them, taste the food, and experience the lovely warm and bright atmosphere that she creates. She makes gluten-free food look decadent and chic. Can you tell I love her? Yes. I do. Gush, gush, gush.  She is major.

One of the recipes in the book that caught my eye immediately was her Swiss Chard, Pear & Gruyere Tart. However, true to form, I did not have a lot of what the recipe called for. My fancy gluten-free flour supply was rather low, but I did have almond meal.  I scoured the pantry and my fridge looking for other things that could make it work! You can’t stop a girl on a mission to make a tart. It’s just not possible. […]

Almond Spiced Donuts With Chocolate And Coconut | Gluten Free

I warned you this was coming.
I got a donut pan for Christmas and had to fulfill its donut-pan-destiny. It’s only fair.
Team Health has been in full effect in our house. I got my husband hooked on juice. We’ve been eating veggies like true professionals. Did I mention that my sweet-guzzling-cookie-butter-loving husband made me purchase chia seeds yesterday? I watched in amazement as he added a tablespoon to his green juice and knocked it back like a champ. Superfood-tastic. It’s getting serious.
Let’s be completely honest though, we keep things balanced… […]

Morning Mojito | Dangerously Delicious Juicing Adventures

I’ve never been a big juicer.

You can listen to me complain about it here.

But, who says people can’t change?

This past week I made it my mission to embrace all that is wonderful in the world of juice. After thanksgiving happened, and I overdosed on cheese and sweets, I was feeling lackluster. It was time to step up my health game. I was ready.

So I loaded up on veggies and fruits for the week, took out my juicer and I haven’t looked back. The juicer has earned its spot on the counter right next to my kitchen aid.

So this particular juice is straight up delicious. It’s like a drinking a mojito, except  no one is going to judge you for tossing this one back at 7:00am on your way to work.  In fact, they might pat you on the back. Good for you.  You drank a whole head of romaine lettuce? You’re a total champ. If you had an actual mojito for breakfast you might get some weird looks on the bus that morning. Someone might comment about how you are sweating rum through your sensible pant suit. You smell like those Pirates of the Caribbean guys look.  Less of a champ. Maybe just stick with the juice version for the work week. Perfect. […]

Apple Coffee Cake | Gluten Free

I can’t really take credit for this one. This would be the brain child of one Betty Crocker. No joke.  I googled what I could do with the remains of my Gluten Free Bisquick and I found a recipe that has the words “Impossibly Easy” in the title.  It was a done deal.  Not only were they claiming that it would be easy, but impossibly so.

This could make a lovely Thanksgiving breakfast.

I figured all of you lovely people could use something IMPOSSIBLY easy right about now. Heck, I could use something easy, and I am only making cranberry sauce. Between getting your turkey in a brine, or lacing up your turkducken and the stuffing prep and the three different types of pie you got going on you deserve something that pretty much makes itself.  Do you have flour on your face right now? That is how I imagine everyone today. Perhaps because that is pretty much what I look like in the kitchen…Nay, in life. I am the girl that takes a shower and then manages to get salsa in her hair two minutes later. What am I doing eating salsa two minutes after showering? Great question.  I wish I had an answer for you other than…snacks. […]
